Seismic Design to Eurocode 8


A Short Course with Design Workshops

A 2-day course organised by the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Imperial College London, in collaboration with the Society for Earthquake and Civil Engineering Dynamics (SECED). It combines a presentation of the Eurocode 8 provisions for steel and concrete buildings (including their foundations) with design workshops which will provide participants with hands-on experience of applying the code. The course will be of value to a wide range of practising civil and structural engineers, who would like to acquire a practical appreciation of the design and analysis of structures (particularly buildings) for earthquake resistance, with emphasis on the design according to the provisions of Eurocode 8.
